ACADEMIC PROGRAM

Yonsei accepts international students for fall semester (approximately September to December) and spring semester (approximately March to late-June), and also offers a summer mini-program (approximately the end of June to the end of August).

Almost all courses offered at Ewha are open to exchange and visiting students. Students can also take graduate courses with permission of the professor. In addition to Korean language courses most students take the majority of their courses in English from Yonsei’s Underwood International College, together with Korean and international students. UIC courses cover a broad range of topics from Korean and Asian Studies to economics and business, arts and culture, political science, history, sociology, and more. Students with advance language skills are welcome to take courses in Korean from other Yonsei departments.

Registration and Credits

Students participating in this program will be registered at their home university in Oregon and will receive home campus credits for courses taken at Yonsei University. Students’ course work will be reviewed and evaluated by appropriate academic departments at their home institutions. Students must keep detailed records of course outlines, reading lists, exam results, and other work completed to facilitate accurate evaluation by their home university academic departments.

Students are advised to consult with their academic advisor about their plans to study in the Korea program. Students wishing to earn major or minor credits for courses taken at Yonsei University are strongly advised to be in frequent communication with their advisor to determine what’s possible.

Because of the nature of this program, courses and credits are applied after completion of the program.
