Program Cost

Poitiers Fall Semester

The program fee includes academic and administrative fees, room and board allowance, on-site support, orientation expenses, group activities, and health and accident insurance. The program fee does not include airfare, visa expenses, campus-based fees* and personal expenses such as local transportation, textbooks, laundry, recreation (including continental travel), personal supplies and incidental expenses.

*Note: Students will be charged a Study Abroad Fee by their home OUS institution. This fee varies by institution though is generally about $300 per term and will be billed to students by their home university. Students should also determine with their home university whether resource fees for their major will be charged during their time abroad.

Program costs for the 2008-09 academic year will be set in May 2008. The program fee for non-resident and graduate students is higher than that for resident undergraduates. Information regarding payment schedule and refund policy will be provided during the OUS orientation.

Funding

You can finance your exchange in Poitiers in many ways. Most forms of financial aid, such as grants or loans for which you are eligible at your home campus, may be applied to the program.* Veterans’ benefits may also be applied. Although most forms of financial aid may be applied to program costs, students should be aware that they may need to supplement their standard financial aid package.

* Note for UO and OSU Students with Work Study Awards: The OUS International Programs office in Poitiers is generally able to employ one or more work-study students (depending on Poitiers enrollment and each student's work-study award amount) as office assistants. Students who receive work-study awards are encouraged to retain them in their financial aid packages until the final work-study hires are announced. Year-long program participants receive first priority for work-study positions in Poitiers.
